Technical product designer/ draftsman (m/f/d) and Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering - dual study course

The RBU Group has been a successful service provider in the fields of engineering, manufacturing and assembly for more than 25 years. We are an owner-managed group and offer convincing solutions in a wide range of industrial areas of thermal process technology, but also in general steel construction. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a trainee technical product designer/ draughtsman (m/f/d) as part of a dual study programme leading to a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) in mechanical engineering.
Your future training area
- You design and construct components, assemblies or complete systems according to customer requirements
- You produce detailed models in the CAD system Inventor (e.g. for the new construction or modernisation of machines).
- You observe the relevant standards in each case and enter dimensions suitable for production.
- You take into account electrotechnical components, select suitable standard parts and materials that meet the requirements.
- You constructively implement change proposals (e.g. from error and test reports) and make sure that developments can be implemented economically.
- You create assembly plans and parts lists for production, maintain product documentation, manage the different development versions and secure the data.
The university and the KIA study model:
- You will complete your studies in Krefeld at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, one of the largest and most efficient universities for applied sciences in Germany.
- Your degree course lasts a total of four years and follows the KIA model: In the first four semesters, you will be trained in parallel at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and in our company.
- During this time, you will spend two days a week at the university campus in Krefeld South and three days at our company and can put the content you have studied directly into practice.
- After the fourth semester, you will complete your vocational training as a technical product designer with an examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
- For the rest of your studies, you will join us as a student trainee and continue to be paid so that you can stand on your own two feet.
- After the 8 semesters, you will finish your studies with a Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) degree.

Our requirements
- Successfully completed (technical) school-leaving examination
- Willingness to perform for the requirements of a dual study programme
- Very good spatial imagination and understanding of mathematical and geometric relationships
- Technical affinity
- The ability to work in a team, initiative and a sense of responsibility round off your profile
